Project: Write with Conviction

Can you write a strong enough report to help the DA put the criminal away?

Write with Conviction

Client: Internal development project
Users: Police officers and other law enforcement specialists

Our challenge:
Teach cadets and working police officers to write more effective arrest reports, so that they win more convictions in court.

The Game:
You’ve arrived at the scene of a crime, and it’s time to interview the witness and the victim. Ask the right questions to reveal the critical elements of the crime (some witnesses are more cooperative than others). Once you’ve gathered the elements, put them together in a convincing report. Determine the right crime to charge, support all the required elements, and be sure you distinguish between fact and opinion. Then submit it to the DA to see if she thinks it’s strong enough to prosecute.
